April 13, 2012: Things were coming together. We'd been getting together to write since October of 2011; sometimes we’d meet up twice a week and other times circumstances would only allow us to meet once a month. Whatever the case, we always found a way to make the most of our time. The songs and what we wanted this band to be about always seemed to take huge steps forward every time we got together. In the two practices preceding this recording, we had begun running straight through these six songs. Even on this recording, all four of us were still trying out different ideas within the arrangements; some of these ideas worked, some of them didn’t, but overall we knew we were getting closer…and that was exciting.
So, on this night, with pre-production in mind, Dan set up some microphones to record our session. We had some drinks, turned on our amps and proceeded to play these six songs some more; preparing them to go straight to tape in just a few weeks. We had no idea that this would end up being the last time we would ever play together.
This recording is 100% live. It is raw. It is bombastic. It captured a true moment...a moment that highlights years of friendship and collaboration; a moment that we will never forget.
*Note: This moment is best experienced at maximum volume.
